The S4 dash light is flashing in my DOHC carb xx 1988 honda prelude - i have read forum after forum and get several answers being: to do with the speed sensor or lock up clutch not engaging. And to fix eitha prob: check the ATU and see how many flashes or jack car changing voltage..... What is the exact problem and how do i fix this?
Also, I am not entirely sure if vehicale is 1987 or 1988 model as plate wit details is missing, therefore will the answer for both vehicles be the same answer?
Appreciate your assistance as is starting to bug me as cruise control doesnt work, neither does the speedo as well as seems to rev high all the time.

In the service manual (see manuals section) there is a description of how to check the error code for the transmission. The troubleshooting section starts on page 9-12.
I'd start there.
