--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So i just purchased a 89 Prelude with 160,xxx on it for $200 it's a pretty solid car and it had a few issues, but it came with a brand new trans already installed, and just needed a ECU. I have been looking over the car and i realized that when i put the headlights down, one will go up as the other will go down, i tryed ot set both of them at the same point with that turn nob under the hood but no luck.

Is there a way to get this fixed? Maybe a wire is not wired in correct, or in the correct spot, or is there somthing more major im not seeing?

Please any and all help is appreciated.

ThankYou

Did you try cranking them to the same position while the battery was disconnected? Once they are synchronized with the power off, they should behave. If not, check the wiring and the headlight lock-up switch in the interior.

Good to see you again, Chi. Sorry to hear that your car is still having trouble.

I think at this point we can assume that all the electronic components are functioning as they should, so let's start thinking about the mechanical bits. I'll take a look at my lude and refresh my memory of how the lights are raised and lowered. Can you see any different between the two sides of your lude in the mechnism that raises and lowers the headlights. Also, is there any chance that the headlight motor on the bad side isn't the right unit? Pictures would be good.

be sure to turn the knob on top of the servo ONLY one direction (the direction the arrows go)
if you turn too much, do NOT turn backwards, keep turning to make a full cycle.

i think your lights are only out of sync.
