looking to buy a third gen prelude
The only thing is, the timing belt broke. I just want to know if these are interference engines, and the plausibility of the valves being bent. It's only 700 dollars and ran like a top before this happened, I got to drive it a few times and I fell in love. Thanks in advance!

Silverton,
Welcome to PreludeDriver.com. Glad you made it.
3rd generation Preludes do have interference engines and if the timing belt broke it is likely that some damage has occurred. In many cases the damage is limited to just a couple of bent valves; it really depends on what the engine was doing when the belt snapped.
I have heard of cases of belts snapping in a 3rd gen and no damage occurring, but most of the time, bent valves are what happens. The only way to know for sure is to take the head off and look.
