H22A1-Woodruff Key removal
I am in the process of rebuilding my motor, and I can not remove the woodruff key from the crankshaft. I have looked on other forums and everywhere else on this topic still nothing specific enough to help. What I've tried so far is a vice grip, 3 pronge jaw puller (does not fit), and nipper pilers (this has manage to wiggle it but thats about it).

I assume that you've already removed the pulley?

That's odd. Usually woodruff keys fall right out.
Does it look bent? Damaged?

Re: H22A1-Woodruff Key removal
Honestly, I'm completely stumped.
Woodruff keys normally fit in with plenty of room to spare. I've never thought of it as the type of piece that could become seized in place.
That said, the only thing I can suggest is that whatever force you apply to it be somewhat rotational. They fit into a semi-circular groove, so pulling it straight up or away from the engine may not work as well as moving it such that it rotates up and out of its groove.
All said, why do you need to remove it at all?

Finally got it out. What I did was I took a chisel and a hammer to the side of the woodruff key. Banged on it hard until I saw it wiggle then took my nippler piler and just pulled and the whole thing came off.
